Things are Heating Up in the Kitchen

In Cooking Dash, gamers play the role of an overworked diner owner who is tasked with managing a diner, cooking and serving customers. This cute and colourful game presents features strategy elements with plenty of extra challenges along the way. Read on to discover if Cooking Dash will make your mouth water or if it is simply a flash in the pan.

People who have already played Diner Dash will be familiar with the style and concept of this game. This time around the game stars Flo, who is trying to make her mark on the diner world. Payers control the Flo character and try to make her work as quickly as possible to rack up the cash needed to upgrade purchase various elements to upgrade the diner and make it to the next level.

Each level is represented as one day in the diner world. Players are given a certain amount of time to serve as many customers as possible and watch the cash come rolling in. Cash is only dolled out if the order is completed correctly and the customer is given a satisfying dining experience. Therefore, the focus is on attention to detail as well as simply getting out the orders as quickly as possible. Orders that are made incorrectly cost players time as well as money and it is important to strike the perfect balance between speed and accuracy.

The game also has a nice storyline that helps to make it more endearing and engaging. The interactions between Flo and her Grandmother feel real and players will be able to watch the story unfold at the start of the game as Flo and her Grandmother decide to enhance their cooking skills so that they can take care of the diner all by themselves.

Unfortunately, fans of the former Diner Dash characters will find that they are missing from this game. The story explains that Cookie has been given his own cooking show by a couple of television executives and because they are short staffed Flo and her Grandmother are forced to take on the diner alone.

The diner has been given a facelift for this instalment of the game and features a whole new layout. Instead of sitting at separate tables, customers perch at the counter, which helps to make them easier to serve. The kitchen area covers most of the game screen and the various components of the kitchen have been recreated in spectacular detail. There are lots of different tools and machines in the kitchen for players to learn how to use and manage including deep fryers, ice cream and smoothie machines and a workstation where Grandma makes sandwiches.

As soon as a customer takes a seat at the counter and places their order, it will be indicated as a picture in a thought bubble. Players must then prepare and serve the order as quickly as possible. Failure to do this in time will mean that the customer becomes impatient and leaves the diner.

Working in a diner may not be the most glamorous job around, but Cooking Dash manages to make it fun and appealing. This game could easily become a bit monotonous, but the creators have added plenty of challenges and other elements to keep gamers on their toes and to make sure that the game is fun and engaging.
